The Chicken Brick, uniquely named for its distinctive shape, is a beautiful piece of English terracotta cookware. Enjoy cooking large joints of meat, including whole chicken's, in this traditional and timeless earthenware, terracotta pot. Which is not only beautiful to cook in, but even better to serve from too.
Terracotta is the perfect choice for making meals to warm the body and soothe the soul. This traditional terracotta clay-pot works by simply cooking meats within their own natural juices. Based on a traditional design, this Chicken Brick still retains the original ‘hand-thrown’ character and makes a wonderful kitchen gift for Mum’s, Dad’s and Grandparents who may fondly remember them back in the 1970’s.
It's super easy and keeps your oven clean from splutters and splashes. Before cooking, submerge the Chicken Brick in water for 15 to 30 minutes to absorb water. Place the chicken in the pot (with or without vegetables as you would normally) and place into a cold oven. Then turn the oven on and cook as normal. The walls of the terracotta pot help to diffuse the heat, and as the pot warms it releases the water as steam resulting in deliciously juicy and tasty dishes. Also ideal for cooking casseroles and stews too.

To clean hand wash only by simply washing the brick in hot water adding only a touch of washing liquid. Scrub with a brush and ensure the brick is completely dry before replacing the lid and storing. We love the way terracotta improves with use, giving it a homely lived-in feel and look.
